
Women of Note is a community chorus organized and operated exclusively for public music education and dedicated to performance, community service, and leadership in the arts. Our mission is to teach and perform choral works to interested persons of all ages, to participate in community service activities, and to develop and maintain public interest in vocal arts in the Western Washington region.

Elizabeth Berndt, director
Elizabeth studied voice, piano, and choral conducting under Ron Jeffers at Oregon State University and at the Conservatory of Music in Stuttgart, Germany. She holds a Bachelor of Music from OSU and Master of Education from Boston University. She has many years’ experience as a high school music teacher, and has been accompanist for several choirs, including the German American Choir in Stuttgart, Germany. Mrs. Berndt was a soprano singer and rehearsal director for the Karlshoehe Kontorei for nine years prior to returning to the United States. Locally, Elizabeth has sung with Masterworks Choral Ensemble, as well as founding and directing a men’s chorus, Capstans, and a community chorus, Harstine Island Community Choir. She is currently singing with Symphony Tacoma Voices and directing Women of Note, a women’s choir of South Puget Sound.
